5/6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds to win
Week 14 is the last week of fantasy football’s regular season, or even the first week of the playoffs for some. Regardless, this week is important in fantasy. Anybody that owns any player on the Detroit Lions must feel great heading into a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. After Calvin Johnson had over a hundred yards and two TDs in the first half on Thanksgiving, what in the world will he do on 10 days rest vs. the Bucs’ dreadful defense? The possibilities are endless. The Lions’ defense will surely make Josh McCown look like an even worse version of himself (is that possible?) and make Bucs fans wish they had Mike Glennon back (it can get that bad?). Not only will the Bucs not be scoring points, they will be getting torched left and right whenever the Lions have the ball. Matthew Stafford will be handing TDs to Megatron and Co. all day long. The Bucs have had a ton of close finishes this season, but they have also been blown out twice this year; and I mean really blown out. The Atlanta Falcons were up 56-0 at one point and then a few weeks later, Joe Flacco threw five TDs in the first quarter. Who knows if it can even get that bad again, but if it can, the Lions could surely make it happen. Barring injury or catastrophic events, I really can’t see a scenario where the Bucs win this game. They will be heavily outmatched on both sides of the ball and could easily be down big very early. I would like to be optimistic, so I’ll do my best here. Maybe Jim Caldwell feels bad for Lovie Smith and pulls the starters early?
